ARC is short for Audio Return Channel, which is introduced in HDMI 1.4.

Its function is to output audio signals. If the HDMI interface supports ARC, the projector can return the audio signal to a power amplifier or other devices via HDMI cable, which requires no additional cable.

However, if the projector has no HDMI ARC interface, users need to connect it to a power amplifier by means of S/PDIF or Coaxial output to decode 5.1-channel audio. The bandwidth of HDMI ARC is about 1MB.

The audio formats that can be returned include Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, LPCM 2.0, etc.

The eARC is an enhanced ARC in HDMI 2.1, which has a bandwidth of 37MB. The eARC can transmit the most lossless audio sound formats on the market.
