Christie® has announced a three-year strategic partnership with the Independent Cinemas Australia (ICA), becoming the exclusive projector partner for the association’s annual conferences from 2025 to 2027. In recognition of this partnership, the event will now be officially renamed the “ICA Conference: Powered by Christie.”
The 2025 conference is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 2 at Palace Cinemas in Moore Park, Sydney. Located in the vibrant Entertainment Quarter, Palace Cinemas is a modern complex featuring four screens. A major highlight of the event will be the use of Christie’s CP2411-RBe projector from its “CINEMA EMINENCE” series, delivering an immersive visual experience on a 12-meter-wide screen and showcasing the latest advancements in projection technology.

Christie has been a trusted partner of ICA for over a decade, playing a critical role in supporting the independent cinema sector. By facilitating the Virtual Print Fee (VPF) agreements and backing the Melbourne-based ICA Network Operations Centre (NOC), Christie has consistently provided reliable technical support to ICA members. This new collaboration further underscores Christie’s long-term commitment to the independent cinema industry in Australia.
Shared Vision for the Future of Independent Cinema
“ICA and Christie share a common vision — to drive the sustainable growth of independent cinemas across Australia through the adoption of advanced technology,” said Brett Rosengarten, CEO of ICA. “Christie has proven to be an invaluable partner in supporting and strengthening our industry. We are delighted to welcome them as the exclusive projection partner of our conference and look forward to showcasing their latest technological innovations at the event.”
Han Kim, Vice President of Sales for Christie Asia Pacific, added, “Our deep, long-standing commitment to ICA and its members is at the heart of this partnership. We are honored to offer independent cinemas cutting-edge and energy-efficient projection solutions like the CP2411-RBe, helping them continue to deliver outstanding cinematic experiences for years to come.”
Technology Showcases and Conference Highlights
Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the projection booth at Palace Cinemas Moore Park and see Christie’s CP2411-RBe projector in action. Those interested in scheduling a tour can contact Olga Aleksan, Senior Regional Sales Manager for Christie Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, a Christie CineLife+ RGB pure laser projector will be on display, offering participants an up-close look at the next generation of vivid, lifelike cinema projection.
On April 30, Olga Aleksan will also speak as an invited guest at the conference, highlighting Christie’s latest innovations and case studies — including Palace Cinemas’ recent acquisition of CineLife+ CINEMA EMINENCE series projectors. Recognized for her contributions to ICA, Aleksan was honored with the prestigious 2024 Mark Sarfaty CEO Award. During her presentation, she will spotlight the critical role of Christie projectors installed at Palace Central Cinema by HOYTS Cinema Technology Group during the 2024 SXSW Sydney Festival, and discuss ongoing efforts to support ICA and the Australian cinema industry.
To further support smaller independent cinema operators, Christie will sponsor two full conference passes for ICA members. ICA will manage the selection and distribution of the passes, giving priority to operators who might otherwise be unable to attend due to budget constraints. The recipients will be announced ahead of the event.
