Cellid, a company specializing in next-generation AR display systems and spatial recognition engines, has announced the successful development of a miniature projector capable of delivering full-color imagery with a wide 60-degree field of view (FOV) for AR glasses. The company also revealed its roadmap to expand support to 70° FOV by 2025, setting a new benchmark in the industry.
Breaking New Ground in AR Display Technology
As augmented reality technology rapidly evolves, user expectations for wider viewing angles and high-definition visual performance have intensified. However, the challenge has always been to design a compact projector that not only delivers sharp, uniform imagery with a FOV of 50 degrees or more but also fits seamlessly into the slim frames of AR glasses—a task that has stymied researchers and developers for years.
Cellid has now achieved a major breakthrough. Its newly launched projector uses a proprietary optical system and a precision-engineered cylindrical structure, enabling it to maintain exceptional image quality and display stability within a highly compact form factor.

Ultra-Small, Ultra-Light — Built for Everyday Wear
The projector measures just 5.8mm x 5.8mm and weighs a mere 0.3 grams, making it one of the most compact and lightweight AR display solutions available. This ultra-miniaturized design ensures easy integration into standard eyewear-style AR devices without adding noticeable bulk or discomfort.
With support for a 60° FOV, the projector significantly enhances the visual immersion, allowing virtual elements to blend more naturally into real-world surroundings. The result is a more seamless and immersive AR experience that caters to both consumer and enterprise applications.
Looking Ahead: Toward Wider Views and Mass Production
A spokesperson from Cellid commented:
“Looking to the future, we are committed to further advancing our optical performance and manufacturing reliability. Our goal is to expand our product lineup from the current 50-degree FOV to 70 degrees and to establish a mass production system by the end of 2025 to meet growing global demand.”
With this development, Cellid positions itself at the forefront of AR hardware innovation, offering a promising solution for next-gen AR glasses that combine high performance, compact size, and immersive visual capabilities.
