What is the difference between normal projector and 3D projector? It mianly lies in the 3D capability, in another word, only the projector that can play 3D content can be called the 3D projector.

it is important to understand what 3D is all about first. While 3D projectors can both display 2D content and 3D content, a regular projector can only play 2D content and cannot display 3D content.

To interpret a 2-dimensional image as a 3-dimensional image via our brian, each of our eyes need to have a different view of the picture. How different should be the view of two eyes? The gap between viewpoint of our two eyes would have be about 60mm.

It is the existence of this viewpoint gap that activate the visual cortex in your brain to interprets the two separate images as a 3D image. 3D images are not real, but your brain makes you believe that what you are looking at is real.

What a 3D projector does is to flat the 3D picture onto the screen. Then with assistanc of 3D glasses, our eyes will filter the picture’s polarity, getting each of our eyes to function respectively to create a 3D experience.

This simulation of depth can only be offered by 3D projector, a relugar one won’t be able to finish the task.3D projectors can accept and display various types of stereoscopic 3D transmission formats, while normal projectors cannot.
