NEC NP64 Projector Won’t Turn On Troubleshooting

If your NEC NP64 projector can’t turn on, you can check the following solutions for troubleshooting.

1. Check that the power cable is plugged in and that the power button on the projector cabinet or the remote control is on.

2. Ensure that the lamp cover is installed correctly.

3. Ensure that the two screws on the lamp housing are completely tightened.

4. Ensure that the cooling pump is installed correctly.

5. Check to see if the NEC NP64 projector is overheated. If there is insufficient ventilation around the projector or if the room where you are presenting is particularly warm, move the projector to a cooler location.

6. Check to see if you continue to use the NEC NP64 projector for another 100 hours after the lamp has reached the end of its life. If so, replace the lamp. After replacing the lamp, reset the lamp hours used.

7. The lamp may fail to light. Wait a full minute and then turn on the power again.

8. Set [FAN MODE] to [HIGH ALTITUDE] when using the projector at altitudes approximately 5000 feet/1500 meters or higher. Using the projector at altitudes approximately 5000 feet/1500 meters or higher without setting to [HIGH ALTITUDE] can cause the projector to overheat and the projector could shut down. If this happens, wait a couple of minutes and turn on the projector. When the lamp is turned off, the projector’s internal temperature is hot. If the power is turned on before the NEC NP64 projector has cooled down, the fan will run a short time before the lamp will turn on.
