BenQ Introduces LW650 Laser Projector with WXGA Resolution

BenQ has recently launched a new projector, the LW650 model. This projector resembles the recently released LH650, but with a native resolution of WUXGA instead of 1080p, making it more economically viable. The LW650 also boasts a brightness of up to 4000 ANSI lumens, supports HDR10+, and features a 1.3x zoom capability.

Designed for use in meeting rooms or offices, BenQ’s new product, the LW650 WXGA laser projector, is compact and ideal for mobile offices or conferences. It comes equipped with SmartEco mode and an Eco Blank button to reduce power consumption effectively. Additionally, it offers multiple display modes to optimize the presentation of slideshows, spreadsheets, and infographics.

Compared to the earlier LH650 model, the LW650 is quite similar but with some key differences. The most notable distinction is in resolution: the new model features a native WXGA resolution of 1280×800 pixels, whereas the LH650 has a resolution of 1080p. Furthermore, the aspect ratios differ, with the LW650 at 16:10 and the LH650 at 16:9. There are also variations in throw ratios, with the WXGA projector at 1.21-1.57 and the 1080p model shorter at 1.15-1.5.

Both models utilize laser light sources, providing up to 4000 ANSI lumens of brightness and an expected lifespan of up to 20,000 hours. The projectors cover 90% of the Rec. 709 color space, boasting 1.07 billion colors and a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1. Users can fine-tune the image with automatic vertical and horizontal keystone correction tools and the 1.3x zoom feature. Other features include support for HDR10+, an integrated 10W speaker, and various interface options like HDMI 2.0b/HDCP2.2, USB-A, and USB-C, with an input lag of just 8.3 milliseconds.

If you don’t have office or meeting needs and are looking to purchase a home laser projector, consider the Dangbei Mars or Dangbei Atom projectors, which use ALPD laser technology to provide high brightness and clear pictures.

The pricing for the BenQ LW650 WXGA laser projector has not been disclosed yet. However, it is expected to be more affordable than the BenQ LH650 projector, priced at $1199/£1206.45/€1309.
