Two projectors sitting nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents apart on Amazon’s best-seller list this morning: the Magcubic HY350Max at 109.99 dollars, and the Aurzen EAZZE D1R at 129.98 dollars. Both are single-panel LCD units with a native 1920 x 1080 panel. Both do auto focus and automatic keystone correction. Both are around three pounds and run off a wall adapter. On paper the cheaper one looks like the better buy, because Magcubic prints 600 ANSI lumens on its listing and Aurzen prints nothing at all.
The listings are the wrong place to settle this one.
Aurzen does publish a figure, just not on Amazon. Its own product page rates the EAZZE D1R at 280 ANSI lumens with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 1.28:1 throw. That number sits in a family: the D1R air is rated 300 ANSI and the D1R Cube 330 ANSI, and for both of those Aurzen names SGS as the certifying body and ISO 21118 as the standard used. The base D1R is the cheapest model in the line and the dimmest, which is what you would expect, and the number is internally consistent with two siblings that have been measured by a third party.
Magcubic’s 600 ANSI lumens appears in a bullet point with no standard named and no certifier named. It is more than twice the Aurzen figure from a projector that costs less, uses the same imaging technology and has the same 1080p panel. Nothing on the listing explains how that gap is achieved. It is not impossible — LED output on these engines has genuinely improved, and Magcubic sells a lot of projectors — but an unqualified number carries less weight than a qualified one, and buyers reading the two listings side by side are not being shown that difference.
The 600 figure is also not unique to Magcubic. The WiMiUS P62 Pro carries exactly the same claim, and when we put it beside the TCL C1 earlier this month, the TCL sitting three dollars away had 230 lumens certified to a published standard against the WiMiUS 600 that was not. Six hundred is what this class of listing says; it is rarely what a lab says. The Aurzen runs Roku TV. Not a Roku-flavored launcher, not a skin over Android — the licensed operating system, which means Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV and the Roku Channel are installed applications with working digital rights management, plus the 500-odd free live channels Roku bundles. Activation needs a free Roku account and an internet connection, and that is the whole setup.
The Magcubic runs Android 14 with an app store that is not Google’s. Netflix is not on it in a licensed form. Owners sideload, or they cast from a phone, or they plug in a streaming stick. Our specification entry for the HY350Max has carried the line “app store sideloading, no licensed Netflix app” since it went into the database, and nothing on Magcubic’s listing contradicts it. What Magcubic gives you instead is HDR10 decoding, motion interpolation, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and an air-mouse remote that makes typing into whatever app you did manage to install less painful.
One reviewer of the Aurzen put the difference plainly enough. They had owned cheap projectors before and had always ended up mirroring a phone or hanging a separate box off the HDMI port; the Roku build meant they stopped doing that. That is a twenty-dollar problem being solved by a twenty-dollar price difference, and it is the entire case for the more expensive machine.
Setup automation, and it is not close. Magcubic ships auto focus, six-axis keystone, obstacle avoidance and automatic screen alignment, so the image squares itself against a frame and steps around a ceiling fixture without anyone touching a menu. Aurzen has auto focus and auto keystone and stops there. Buyers of the Magcubic mention the same thing repeatedly — that it finds focus on a bare wall in a few seconds and needs nothing further.
Audio is the other one. The Magcubic is rated at 15 watts against two five-watt drivers in the Aurzen, though the Aurzen’s are Dolby Audio tuned. Neither is good. Owners of both machines raise the speakers as the weak point, one Aurzen buyer describing an otherwise excellent back-yard screening where the sound needed help, and a Magcubic owner naming the built-in speaker as the single thing they would change. Budget a Bluetooth speaker for either.

Radios go to Magcubic as well — Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 against dual-band Wi-Fi and two-way Bluetooth on the Aurzen. On a congested home network that is a real difference for 4K streams, although neither projector has a panel that resolves 4K anyway.
Aurzen quotes 60 to 200 inches on its own site and 60 to 150 inches on Amazon for the same product. Magcubic recommends 70 to 130 inches. Both ranges are optimistic at the top end for a projector in this brightness class; at 150 inches, 280 or even 600 ANSI lumens is spread thin enough that a fully dark room stops being a preference and becomes a requirement. Reliability signals favor neither strongly. The Aurzen holds a 4.6 average across roughly 1,090 Amazon ratings; the Magcubic sits at 4.4 across about 1,480. Both are new enough that the two-year picture does not exist yet.
So the decision comes down to a single question that has nothing to do with the specification tables. If the projector will be fed by a games console, a laptop or a streaming stick you already own, the Magcubic is the better hardware for less money and the licensing question never comes up. If it is going to be handed to someone who expects to press a button and get Netflix — a guest room, a child’s room, a parent’s house — the twenty dollars is not really a price difference. It is the cost of not having to explain anything.
