Samsung The Premiere 5 Laser Projector Set to Launch in China with Touch Interaction Feature

Samsung Electronics has officially teased the upcoming launch of its The Premiere 5 laser projector in the Chinese market. The standout feature? A unique touch interaction capability that allows users to control the projected screen using simple finger gestures—reminiscent of Sony’s Xperia Touch concept from years ago.

While the price for the Chinese version has yet to be announced, the projector retails for 1.99 million KRW (approximately $1,440) in South Korea.

Ultra-Short Throw Triple Laser System with 4K Clarity

The Premiere 5 is equipped with a triple laser ultra-short throw system, delivering 4K resolution and up to 560 ISO lumens of brightness. It can project a 100-inch image from just 43.3 cm away from the display surface. The projector supports flexible placement, capable of projecting sharp, vivid images onto walls, desks, floors, or dedicated screens.

Intuitive Touch Controls with Infrared Detection

To enable touch functionality, the projector integrates an infrared camera and laser sensors that accurately detect finger and hand movements. Users can interact with projected content using familiar gestures such as tap, pinch, and zoom, making tasks like navigating webpages or confirming selections more intuitive and engaging.

Adaptive Brightness with Environmental Awareness

Another key feature is the projector’s environmental sensing technology, which automatically adjusts brightness, contrast, and color balance based on ambient lighting conditions. This ensures optimal viewing without the need for manual calibration, providing a consistently high-quality image in varying light environments.

Powered by Tizen OS for a Smart Experience

Running on Tizen OS 9.0, Samsung’s proprietary smart platform, The Premiere 5 offers access to a full suite of apps and smart features. Users can stream content, browse the web, and control connected devices—all from a single, compact projector unit.
