Reviews from theverge.com:
- Excellent image quality for an all-in-one portable projector
- Android TV on the go
- Functions as a decent Bluetooth speaker
- No ads
- Netflix not officially supported
- Works best in very dark rooms
- Visible light shadow when projecting at extreme angles
- Bulky compared to most portable projectors and lacks a lens cover
The Horizon Pro runs Android TV 10.0, which some prefer over the newer Google TV-inspired UI that sometimes favors promoted content over your own.
It lacks a lens cover, which makes transport a bit worrisome.
It powers on and boots into Android TV in about 45 seconds, or less than five seconds from standby.
Air is sucked in from the front and exits out the back, which can be quite warm if the projector is sitting on a table in front of you.
There are four manual controls along the top of the projector: on/off, play/pause, volume up, and volume down.
It lacks newer Wi-Fi 6 support, but I was able to stream 4K HDR content without issue when connected at 5GHz to my nearby access point.
Automatic keystone correction can be activated any time the projector senses motion. It was too sensitive for my needs as any bump would start a new hunt and override my carefully constructed rectangle.
It’s relatively quiet for a projector at around 30dB, but that’s loud enough to hear the fan above Sir David Attenborough’s voiceover work if you’re seated near the projector.

Very good projector
I've been searching around for good projectors for some years now. I've purchased numerous projectors and I have to say I am amazed at what this projector can do. It has everything I want in a projector. The AI is amazing at making the screen square no matter where I place the projector. The colors and brightness is more than enough for a great movie night with friends and family. The sound is also amazing but if you need more there is an optical out and audio 3.5 mm jack. Ive hooked up both my ps4 and switch and there is two gaming modes. One where you can still keystone and the other is super low latency where there is no keystone. I use the first gaming mode with keystone and it works great. No noticeable lag. And the icing on the cake is the lamp life is 25,000 hours. So I don't have to worry about changing the bulb like my other projectors. Movies, Android TV, and Gaming… what else can you ask for.
So far so good!
The 4K auto-focus and powerful bright projection are amazing. Big bang for the buck. The device still has early adoption issues which I hope will be fixed in future updates: 1/not all streaming services are working (Netflix for example), 2/HDMI ARC is not working. When using ARC HDMI sound output, I can either get sound or picture but not both.
amazing and bright
XGIMI HORIZON Projector Pro The picture is amazing and bright. The controls are easy to use. The projector is extremely quiet and the exhaust heat is minimal.
The auto-adjusting of image onto the wall is so cool. No problem setting it up and running it. For anyone complaining about lack of Nextflix – this can be solved by pugging in a Google Chromcast via HDMI or any other cloud tv dongle and running everything of that. Or you can install Netflix with the installer app. I'm sure Netflix support will come considering that it runs on Google, and the issue can be bypassed by plugging in a Google device. This is a dumb Netflix policy, not XGIMI.
